Troubleshooting Guide: Validating Game Files and Reinstalling Easy Anti-Cheat
Updated over a week ago

Encountering issues with game files can be frustrating and disrupting to your gaming experience. Corrupted files or errors can lead to crashes, glitches, or even prevent you from launching the game entirely. Fortunately, many gaming platforms provide tools to validate game files, ensuring they are intact and properly installed. Additionally, if issues persist, manually reinstalling Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) can often resolve underlying problems. This guide outlines the steps to validate game files on popular platforms like Steam and Epic Games, and how to reinstall EAC when necessary.

Validate your game files to check for corrupt files.

If the issues persist even after verifying game files, reinstalling Easy Anti-Cheat might be necessary.
Follow these steps:

  • Navigate to the installation directory of your game.

  • Locate the "EasyAntiCheat" folder.

  • Inside this folder, find the "EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe" file.

  • Right-click on this file and select "Create Shortcut."

  • Right-click on the shortcut and choose "Properties."

  • In the "Target" section of the Properties window, add "install prod-fn" (without quotes) after the existing text.

  • It should look like this: "...EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe" install prod-fn

  • Double-click the shortcut to run the installer. Note that no window will open, but Easy Anti-Cheat will reinstall silently.

  • Restart the game after the installation completes.

If you encounter persistent issues or need further assistance, don't hesitate to contact customer support for additional help.
